Today I was re-tweeted by Neil Gaiman (
@neilhimself), a lifelong idol of mine who has 2 MILLION followers on twitter. The art of mine he was RT’ing (which I drew for a friend of his, @IamLucyWood) has since had over 2,500 views on flickr (most of my photos get 0-3 views, and I piss myself when I get 100 views, for an idea of scale.) It got 10 retweets and 24 favorites, all from Neil’s followers (I think).
That was the high point of my career – and then about 10 minutes later, I hit the low point of my career – after a year of unsuccessful job-hunting, I got the news I am completely out of Unemployment funds. This is several months sooner than I had thought, and it’s freaking me out. I’m waiting to hear back about a job interview, and have many irons in the fire, but its scary as heck to have zero income. I’ve made this item available for purchase in a number of places in an effort to raise some funds.
If you want to hire me to make custom art work for you, I’m available for hire.
