Lower Sugar Smoothie

Lately I’ve been trying to increase my nutrients and lower my sugars. I have tried to reflect this in my smoothie:

1 banana
1/4 c mixed frozen berries
1/4 c frozen pineapple
4 frozen strawberries
1/2 c baby kale
1/2 c organic spinach
1/2 c unsweeted, plain kefir
1/3 c OJ
2 T ground flaxseeds

It’s tart! I can definitely taste the lack of sugar and the increased greens, but it’s still a tasty treat.

I’m hoping by lowering my sugar, including halving my sugar-in-my-coffee intake, I’ll re-calibrate my threshold of what’s sweet vs. what needs sweetening.
